Wednesday Practice

Wonderful job today to all who competed. We are so proud of you!

Tomorrow we meet in the LGI for study hall. We will have practice immediately after study hall. Practice will end at 5pm.

When the results from today are posted we will be sure to post the link.

The event list for the meet tomorrow has been posted. We will meet on Midland Ave. If Coach Wallace mentioned that she had a uniform for you, please meet her withing the first ten minutes of 4th period in the library in the main building to receive your uniform.

Thursday Practice

Originally practice was optional for Thursday September 25, 2014. There has been a change. There is no practice. Enjoy the day off. 

Practice will resume after school on Friday September 26, 2014 at Woodman Field. 

Wednesday Practice Change

There will be NO STUDY HALL on Wednesday September 24, 2014. Please report to Woodman Field immediately after school prepared to run.

FUN RUN

If you are competing in the fun run today please report to Woodman field at 4:15pm. If you are volunteering please report at 2:45 pm. See you soon! 

Saturday Practice

There is no practice on Saturday. 

Sleep in, get some rest. Be sure to go for a 35-40 minute run dynamics, drills and stretch before it gets warm. See you all on Sunday at the fun run. We will meet at 2:45 pm at Woodman

Pep Rally/Maroon Invitational/Saturday Practice/Fun Run/Monday Pasta Party

The even list for the Maroon Invitational has been posted for tomorrow. If your name is not on the list you have off tomorrow. If you would still like to attend to support your teammates at the meet come to Midland and we will give you a definitive answer.

Pep Rally is tomorrow after school. Please wear your XC t-shirt and plan to sit as a team in the amphitheater.

Saturday practice will be held at 9AM not 10:30AM at Woodman Field. Practice will conclude at approximately 10:30am.

Sunday is the Fun Run, if you plan on running please let us know. If you are not going to run you will be volunteering, representing the Montclair Cross Country team. Please plan to be at Woodman at 2:30pm for your volunteer assignments.

Monday the pasta party will be held at a TBD location.

Sept 16th Meet

The event list has been posted for the meet on Tuesday September 16, 2014. Your race time is located by your name. We will meet on Midland Ave and we will return to Midland Ave as well. Please make sure you have a snack and your safety pin from last week.

Pasta Party and Additional Updates

If you have not emailed me your information please do so ASAP. The deadline had been extended to 8pm today. 

The weather is beginning to change. Please consider having a long sleeved shirt / pants in your locker. 

**Team gear sales has been extended to Tuesday. Please have your order forms completed and sent to Levi Barnes. If you would prefer to email the order and send payment by your child that can work as well.**

Pasta Party- the next pasta party will be held at 20 The Fairway. Please bring sweatshirt/sweatpants we will be outside. The food assignments are as follows:

Freshman - pasta

Sophomores - sides (bread, salad)

Juniors- desserts (fruit preferably) 

Seniors- drinks

If you or your family would like to purchase team gear, the order form is on the right under additional information. The deadline is September 12, 2014. Yes, tomorrow is the deadline for all order forms.  Please return your code of conduct and email montclaircrosscountry@gmail.com the "Homework Assignment" which is located in an earlier post.

The Mountie Pride Fun Run is approaching. We will discuss this event in its entirety tomorrow. If you are interested in actually running this race please let me know. Thursday Practice Update

Tomorrow we will be traveling to Garrett Mountain for practice please make sure you are at the Midland Avenue after school. We will be back at approximately 5:15pm at Midland Ave.

First Meet Information

The event list for the meet tomorrow has been posted. Next to your name is the time of the race you will participate in. The mixed 2 mile (4pm) and JV 5k (5:45pm) you will be competing against all individuals in the race. Varsity boys (4:45pm) race you will be competing against Columbia/Bloomfield. Varsity girls (5:30pm) race you will be competing against Nutley/West Orange.

For those individuals who's name is not on the list, you will not compete this week. This does not mean you will not compete at different times in the season. If you would like to attend the meet to cheer your teammates on please email me and I will be sure to give you a definitive answer.

As a team we will wear our Montclair XC t-shirts to school. Get some rest and we will see you all tomorrow.

We will meet at Midland Ave IMMEDIATELY after school. The bus will return to Midland Ave after the competition.

Additional Information

It was great to see so many faces on Saturday for our information meeting. Just a few things that I did not mention that is important for the season.

- All athletes will be transported to and from each meet via school bus. In order to compete each student athlete must take the bus. If in fact a parent/guardian comes to a competition you are allowed to only take your child home. We also ask that each athlete stays for the duration of the meet to cheer on their teammates.

- Pasta parties will be organized by the captains of the team and will take place normally the day before a meet. Information will be posted when pasta parties are scheduled.

Team Pasta Party Information

There will be a team past at party on Monday September 8, 2014 from 6:30 to 8:30 at  31 Aubrey Road. Here are the food assignments:

Freshman: pasta

Sophomores - sides(bread, salad)

Juniors- desserts(fruit preferably) 

Seniors-drinks 

Important Information

We have some information posted which will guide you through the entire cross country season. The schedule/directions has been posted for the season (on the right under schedule).

We have provided you with the order form and template of our team gear for you and your family. The contact person for this is Levi Barnes. Please email him your orders at levibarnes@hotmail.com. The deadline for all gear orders is September 12, 2014 with an estimated delivery date of September 26, 2014. Please make checks payable to Montclair High School Track Booster Club.

An outline for the information meeting has also been provided for all individuals who will not be able to attend.

Friday Practice

We will be going to Garrett Mountain tomorrow. Please be dressed and ready to board the bus from Midland Ave. We will be back to the high school at approximately 5:15pm

Do not forget to hae a good breakfast, lunch and snack. Please have a water and Gatorade with you as well. 

Please stay hydrated throughout the day!!!

First Day of School!

Hope everyone is ready to begin a new school year.

Practice will begin at 3 pm on the track down at Woodman Field. You will be directed to your respective locker rooms when you first arrive at the field house, please leave all your belongings in the locker room.

For sophomores, juniors and seniors on JV/Varsity who would like to opt out of gym, the form is on the right under additional information. Be sure to follow all instructions carefully before filling this paper out. You also must have the signature of from Coach Wallace before you turn the forms into the GUIDANCE OFFICE. You will be able to find Coach Wallace in the library before school and 4th period. Try to get this done ASAP.
