Preseason Schedule - Captains Practice

Preseason captains practice (all athletes are welcome to come captains run the practice) will begin next week. We will meet at Woodman Field, here is the schedule for the next two weeks*:

Week of July 14:  7/15/14 @ 9:30am, 7/17/14 @ 8:30am and 7/19/14 @ 9:30am

Week of July 21:  7/22/14 @ 9:30am, 7/24/14 @ 8:30am and 7/26/14 @ 9:30am

FYI, there is a summer cross country clinic series hosted by Fleet Feet on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm for the next five Wednesdays at Brookdale Park. Click the link below for more information. It would be awesome to see a huge number of Montclair High School athletes participate!!

ATTENION ALL ATHLETES WHO ARE NO LONGER TAKING PART IN THE LAST WEEK OF THE CROSS-COUNTRY SEASON. IT HAS BEEN A VERY SUCCESSFUL ONE. GREAT TURN OUT OF RUNNERS. LARGE AMOUNT OF IMPROVEMENTS FROM FIRST MEET TO LAST MEET. PLEASE RETURN EQUIPMENT AT PRACTICE THIS WEEK. THURSDAY WILL BE FROM 10AM-11AM. NO PRACTICE FRIDAY. HAVE A GREAT WINTER AND HOPE TO SEE YOU NEXT YEAR. THE COACHING STAFF.

Schedule for week of 11/4-11/9.
monday-wednesday practice from 3-4:30. thursday non-varsity no practice. varsity practice in the morning. friday meet at brookdale. Bus leaves from Midland at 2;00. frosh b/g at 3:30. junior varsity at 4;00.
varsity off friday. bus to garrett on saturday at 8:45. varsity girls run at 10:25 and boys at 11;15.

Essex County Championships Information

All ladies running in friday will be excused from their 8th period class. Please meet on Midland Ave immediately after 7th period. 

JV and Varsity boys meet on Midland Ave immediately after school.  

Times of the races are as follows:

 ​Girls Junior Varsity. 3:15 PM

 ​Girls Varsity  3:40PM

 ​Boys Varsity 4:05PM

 

 ​Boys Junior 4:30 PM

Banquet Food Assignments

Freshmen: protein dish (examples: meatballs, sausage, chicken, wings, cheese tray, etc.)

Sophomores: Pasta (examples: baked ziti; lasagna; mac&cheese; pasta primavera, marinara, alfredo, etc.)

Juniors: salads or side dish AND bread

Seniors: dessert

schedule week of 10/28-11/2

This week is very important in our preparation for the county championships to be held at Brookdale Park on Friday 11/1. Workouts are very important to attend and your participation is needed. If your unable to attend please let Coach Pasternack know ASAP. All girl's running will be getting out of school early. Need to give list by Wednesday so teachers know you will be missing class. Also we need to know if you'll be attending the year end banquet on satutrday 11/2 at the Atrium between 1-3. Each grade is responsible for certain food categories. Talk to Coach Wallace about that. There will be no practice on Thursday so everyone can get some rest for Friday. If for some reason you will not be participating in the next two friday meets,please let us know and we can collect your uniforms. On Friday 11/8 only the non-varsity will be running. All uniforms have to be handed in by Wednesday of the next week. Top 7 varsity boys and girls will competing in the state sectionals at Garret Mountain on 11/9. more information to follow after Friday's meet.

Calling All Bakers

MHS Cross Country Booster Club is hosting a bake sale during the Essex County Championships this coming Friday (Nov 1) at Brookdale Park.

We need bakers.  (thanks to Mary Kate Mellon, Claire Walls, Jane Marcus, Linda Bowers so far)

Also, a few folks to man the table, shifts:

2:30-3:30 (need 1)

3:30-4:30 (need 2-3)

4:30-5:30 (need 2-3)

(race schedule is: JV girls @3:15; Varsity girls @3:40; Varsity boys @4:05; JV boys@4:30)
